Day1 | FULL DAY Upon arrival at the airport, our team will be there to transfer you to your hotel. Check the hotel reception’s information boards for details on the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travelers. |
Day2 | FULL DAY Today, we explore the stunning Italian Lakes region. We begin with Lake Orta in Orta de San Giulio, a charming medieval town. A train ride takes us to the town center, followed by a boat trip to the picturesque Island of San Giulio with its monastery. Then, we head to Lake Maggiore, stopping at Stresa for optional visits to the Borromean Islands, including Isola Bella with its gardens and palace (closed in winter). Lunch follows before we continue to Verona. Note: During winter, the Orta train is not operational; instead, a short walk from the bus parking lot takes you to the medieval town. |
Day3 | FULL DAY After exploring Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, we depart for Venice, arriving around 13:00. A boat trip to St. Mark’s Square awaits, followed by a guided walk around the City of Canals. You’ll also have the opportunity to admire Murano’s glasswork. Enjoy some free time, perhaps with a gondola ride, before lodging in the Mestre district. |
Day4 | FULL DAY Today, we depart for Padua to visit the Saint’s Basilica, a pilgrimage site. Next, we head to San Marino, a picturesque independent country atop a fortified mountain, followed by lunch. We then journey through scenic mountain landscapes, crossing the Apennines to Gubbio, known for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including the Palace of Consuls and the 12th-century cathedral. Our final destination is Perugia. |
Day5 | FULL DAY In Perugia, known as the City of Chocolate, we’ll explore its historic streets and squares with a local guide, marveling at its architecture. Then, we head to Assisi for lunch and a visit to the Basilica of St. Francis. Finally, we journey to Rome, arriving in the afternoon. |
Day6 | FULL DAY In the morning, enjoy a scenic tour of Rome, including a visit to the Vatican City to see St. Peter’s Basilica. Then explore the Imperial Forums, a monumental complex of ancient Rome. In the evening, transfer to Trastevere for a charming stroll through its cobblestone streets, filled with hidden gems like medieval churches and local eateries offering Italian and international cuisine. Return to the hotel afterward. |

Today we see one of the most beautiful scenic areas of Europe, the region of the Italian lakes. First, we will travel to LAKE ORTA in ORTA DE SAN GIULIO, a well-preserved medieval city. We take a train ride to reach the center of the medieval town, and then a boat to the ISLAND OF SAN GIULIO, a little island on the lake with a monastery. After this we go on to LAKE MAGGIORE, making a stop in STRESA, where we have the option to visit the Borromean Islands, and especially ISOLA BELLA with its gardens and palace (closed in the winter). Time for lunch. After lunch, we go on to VERONA. Note: during the winter months the Orta train does not operate. In that case, you will access the medieval town by walking approximately 800 meters from the bus parking lot.
We will have time to see Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet before leaving for VENICE, where we arrive at about 13.00 hrs. We include a boat trip to the area of St. Mark’s Square, with a local guide we take a stroll around the City of Canals. There will also be a chance to admire the glasswork of Murano. Afterward, enjoy some leisure time, maybe a trip on a gondola? Accommodation in the Mestre district.
Today we leave for PADUA, the destination of many pilgrims, where we will see the Saint’s Basilica. Then we will go on to the Adriatic coast to see SAN MARINO, a small independent country on top of a strongly fortified mountain. Time for lunch. We travel on through pretty mountain countryside, crossing the Apennines to GUBBIO, a marvelously preserved town in which the Palace of Consuls and the 12th-century cathedral stand out. Continuing to PERUGIA.
PERUGIA is a historic city, also known as the City of Chocolate. With a local guide, we will explore, climbing its ramps that cross the rocky outcrop, and we will be surprised by its squares and stone streets. After this we travel to ASSISI, there we will have time for lunch and to see the Basilica of St Francis. Afterwards, we travel to ROME, arriving in the afternoon.
In the morning, we have a scenic tour, which will be a great introduction to “The Eternal City”. We will visit the tiny state of the Vatican, the epicenter of Christianity in the world. You will be able to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. We include the entrance to the Imperial Forums, an impressive architectural complex formed by monumental buildings and squares, the center of the political activity of Imperial Rome. At the end of the evening, we arrange a transfer to the Trastevere area for a stroll in the narrow cobbled streets of the district with hidden treasures, such as some modest medieval churches, and small shops with the most peculiar of objects, or scenes of daily life. Many trattorias (informal Italian eating establishments) and osterias (inns) imbued with the Italian spirit will be ready to serve you local dishes. Other restaurants serving Indian, Chinese, and international food can be found in this area. Return to hotel.
